Germantown Forward
The Germantown Citizen Forum, on May 31, 2006 at the Black Rock Center of the Arts, was the kick-off event for resuming work on revising the 1989 Germantown Master Plan. A panel of community leaders led residents and business and government representatives in discussing Germantown issues and their desires for its future.
A Public Hearing Draft of the Germantown Forward Master Plan is now available. The draft plan creates a vision for mixed use communities served by the existing MARC commuter rail and the future Corridor Cities Transitway. New zoning tools and design guidelines will help new development and redevelopment in Germantown be walkable, sustainable, and linked to the history and cultural facilities of the community.
Worksessions with the Planning Board will follow the July 28, 2008 Public Hearing, and the Master Plan will be delivered to the County Executive and Council immediately following. See What's New and the Calendar, below, for upcoming meetings and worksessions. A complete archive of Information from Previous Meetings can be found in the Germantown Forward Library.
