Purpose and Outreach Strategy Report

The Montgomery County Planning Board invites residents, environmentalists, business people, organizations and others to comment on the Purpose and Outreach Strategy Report for the County's first Green Infrastructure Functional Master Plan, on Thursday, March 9, 7 p.m., at the Board's auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. The Planning Board is seeking comment on staff's recommended scope of the Green Infrastructure Plan and outreach strategy. Approval of this report begins public participation in the process of creating a countywide vision for ecosystems and natural area connections.

This report explains why green infrastructure is important and why the County needs a functional master plan for it. It also outlines the relationship of the Green Infrastructure Plan to other State and County plans and programs, the objectives of the plan, major themes and issues, a proposed public outreach strategy, and a tentative project schedule.
