Just confirmed! Friday Night InterPlay with Robin Carnes
We hope you'll join us for this great group activity right after dinner on Friday night. It will give us all a chance to play together and get to know each other before we embark on our weekend's adventures. InterPlay is an easy, life-changing activity that's devoted to fun. It's based in a series of incremental "forms" that will lead us through movement and stories, silence and song, ease and amusement. And in the process, we'll unlock the wisdom of our bodies and the wisdom in our Women's Retreat community. If you're convinced that seriousness is the true path to inner wisdom, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you'd like to become a "recovering serious person," get to know other women at the Retreat and laugh out loud, then InterPlay is definitely for you. For this one hour, we'll declare a moratorium on criticism, decompress our stress, set cynicism aside and have a swell time together. P.S. You don't have to think of yourself as "creative" in order to do InterPlay--we'll learn that part together!
Robin Carnes leads InterPlay Friday night, and Yoga and Yoga Nidra Saturday morning.
On Saturday morning (8:30-11:30), Robin will teach a wonderful combination Yoga/Yoga Nidra class. See the "Activity/Course Descriptions" document attached above for more info on the class.
Robin Carnes is a life coach, trained Anusara yoga teacher, certified YogaRhythmics and Kripalu DansKinetics instructor, and co-author of the book Sacred Circles: A Guide for Creating Your Own Women's Spirituality Group. As a life coach, Robin loves working with groups and individuals to help them create more joy, passion and purpose in their lives. She is co-founder of Pathways to Happiness, and has presented numerous workshops around the country at venues such as the Washington National Cathedral and Omega Institute.
Tonya Riggs and friend on top of Mt. Everest -
Saturday Night presentation by Mt. Everest climber Tonya Riggs
Tonya Riggs was one of 18 people (and the only woman!) to climb Mt. Everest as part of the "Everest Peace Project" climb in May, 2006. (Fewer than 100 women have climbed the world's tallest mountain, and less than 25% of those have been Americans.) Tonya has climbed all over the world, including the Peruvian Andes, the Dolomites of Northern Italy, and the Central Alps of Europe. And she's only been climbing for eight years!
Tonya will share her experiences on the Everest climb with an exciting slide presentation on Saturday night--and she'll be at the Retreat all weekend, so you can swap climbing stories and get tips from her later, too. Tonya Riggs currently works as Director of Business Development for Trango USA (a premier line of climbing gear), Stoneware Designs (great activewear and gear for women) and e-Grips in Boulder, Colorado.
