Portions of Park Roads Reopen as Water Recedes

Portions of Beach Drive and Sligo Creek Parkway are being reopened as the storm recedes. As of Saturday night, Beach Drive is still closed from Jones Mill to Franklin due to high water, and the portion of Sligo Creek Parkway south of Rt. 29 remains closed due to debris on the roadway. Full access will be restored as soon as possible.

Sligo Creek Parkway Closure

Sligo Creek Parkway is closed between New Hampshire Avenue and Maple Avenue for approximately the next 90 calendar days (Sept. 4 - Dec. 4) while WSSC replaces a water line. A signed detour is in place.

Half-Price Mooring Sites at Lake Needwood

Effective August 4, 2008, mooring site fees for the remainder of the 2008 boating season (through December 15, 2008) at Lake Needwood will drop from $50.00 to $25.00. The seasonal boating permit remains $65. There are only a few sites left, so call 301-948-0501 today to secure your mooring site at Lake Needwood.

A portion of Hoyles Mill Trail is closed through approximately mid-November as the Department of Parks constructs a new bridge over the old ford across Little Seneca Creek on Hoyles Mill Road in Boyds. For more information on the project and trail maps, visit www.MontgomeryTrails.org

Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center Closes for a Facelift July 7

In the continuing effort to make the Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center the very best place to play indoor tennis in Montgomery County, we'll be resurfacing and color coating all six courts this summer. The center will close to start this work beginning Monday, July 7, and we hope to have the work completed and re-open the facility on Thursday, September 11.

Cabin John Summer Tennis Clinics Move Outside

If you sign up for a Summer '08 tennis clinic at Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center between July 7 and September 10 (while we're redoing the courts), instruction for your class will take place at the outdoor tennis courts at Cabin John Regional Park (right next to Cabin John Ice Rink, 10610 Westlake Drive). more

Wheaton Indoor Tennis Facility Update

We truly regret the inconvenience caused to the tennis community by the multiple delays to the renovation project at the Wheaton Indoor Tennis facility. We rarely have had so many bad things happen to a good project. Find project history, answers and plans for moving forward here.

Ag Farm Trail Detour on Tree Farm Trail

Trail users visiting the Agricultural History Farm Park trails should use caution when using the Tree Farm Trail.  A temporary detour has been established due to construction work along Airpark Road and is clearly marked. For more information, call the Park Manager at (301)-948-5053.

Portion of Muncaster Mill Trail at Rock Creek Regional Park Closed Due to WSSC Water Line Break

A WSSC water line break has closed the portion of Muncaster Mill Trail between the Smith Environmental Center and the Meadowside Nature Center. Repairs are expected to begin today and will be completed as soon as possible. For more information contact the Park Manager at 301-948-5053 or our Park Information Line at 301-495-2595.
