Description: The Montgomery County Department of Public Works and Transportation will build a hiker / biker bridge on the west side of Georgia Avenue between the Forest Glen Metro Station and the Montgomery Hills area inside the Beltway. This facility will enable pedestrians and bicyclists to access both the transit facility and commercial area without having to cross the Beltway ramps at grade level. The proposed bridge will go over the beltway ramps at both ends but under the Beltway itself. The groundbreaking for the facility occurred on August 16, 2004; project completion of construction is Fall 2006.
